Intersectionality Reading of Caribbean-American In-Transit Female Narratives: Kincaid's Lucy and Nunez' Boundaries

While large bulk of recent scholarship has reflected growing attention to migration, there been little focus on the evolving intersected marginalization and social inequalities in-transit women in host land. The present study addresses phenomena intersectionality context larger structures racism, sexism, classism legacies colonialism. Intersectionality refers interlocking oppression experience produced by interaction social, economic, political, cultural racial factors. both as a concept theory is uncover underlying interrelated interconnected layers dimensions including but not limited race, class, gender, sex, ethnicity, age, nation dis/ability which generate distinct mode oppression, subordination inequality for an individual. In this study, related coined diaspora-intersectionality presented acknowledge role overlapping interplay factors exclusion, marginalization, class discrimination, genderization, locationality diasporic female characters two Caribbean writers' works: Jamaica Kincaid's Lucy (1987) Elizabeth Nunez's Boundaries (2011).The authors have number themes common, descent with hyphenated identity living alternately USA Caribbean.
